Shipbuilding

The shipbuilding industry faces extremely challenging environments, where issues such as seawater salt spray, severe vibrations, high humidity, and limited space intertwine, imposing strict requirements on the corrosion resistance, structural strength, and sealing performance of terminal blocks. Ordinary terminals are prone to failure due to rust, loosening, or water ingress, threatening the safety of the ship's power system. Therefore, customized solutions are needed to ensure the long-term and stable operation of terminals in complex marine environments.

  • Enhancing Salt Spray Corrosion Resistance

316L stainless steel is used as the base material for the terminals, which forms a dense oxide film through special passivation treatment, achieving a salt spray resistance of over 5000 hours, far exceeding that of ordinary brass terminals. The surface is plated with a 2μm thick nickel-chromium alloy layer to further block chloride ion erosion, making it suitable for areas such as decks and engine rooms that are in direct contact with seawater or high salt spray, ensuring no obvious rust for more than 5 years.

  • Improving Vibration and Impact Resistance

A dual fixing structure of thread locking and spring crimping is adopted, which can withstand wide-frequency vibrations of 10-2000Hz and impact acceleration of 20g during ship navigation. A nitrile rubber shock-absorbing pad is installed between the terminal and the mounting panel to reduce vibration transmission efficiency. In strong vibration parts such as the main engine room and propulsion system, it can effectively prevent wire loosening and ensure circuit continuity.

  • Optimizing Waterproof Sealing Design

A modular stacked design is adopted, reducing the terminal thickness to 60% of traditional products, enabling multi-layer arrangement in narrow cable channels of ships. It is equipped with a quick plug-in structure, shortening the installation time of a single set of terminals to 30 seconds, and has an anti-misinsertion function, reducing wiring errors in limited spaces and improving cabin wiring efficiency.

  • Adapting to Compact Space Installation

  • Ocean-Going Cargo Shipyard

Deck area terminals used to rust within 3 months due to salt spray. After switching to 316L stainless steel terminals, there was no obvious corrosion after 18 months of maritime navigation. The nickel-chromium plating and passivation treatment provide strong salt spray resistance. Combined with IP68 sealing, no poor contact occurred even in heavy rain, significantly reducing the maintenance frequency of deck circuits.

  • Yacht Manufacturer

The engine room has strong vibrations, and original terminals often loosened causing power outages. The new terminals' dual fixing of thread + spring is very reliable. With the added shock-absorbing pad, the wiring remains stable under 20g impact. During the half-year sea trial, the propulsion system circuit had zero failures, ensuring navigation safety, and the vibration adaptability far exceeded expectations.

  • Offshore Platform Customer

Ballast tanks have high humidity and are prone to water accumulation; previous terminals always short-circuited due to water ingress. After adopting terminals with spiral locking + sealant potting, no leakage occurred in the 1.5-meter underwater immersion test, and no short circuits have happened in one year of operation. Their ability to adapt to humid environments solved a long-standing problem for us.

  • Warship Maintenance Yard

Warship cable channels are narrow, making traditional terminal installation difficult. The modular stacked terminals are 40% thinner, with multi-layer arrangement saving space. The quick plug-in design reduces single-set installation time to 30 seconds, and the anti-misinsertion function reduces wiring errors, improving maintenance efficiency.
